about amelia
“Amelia is an artist! Born and raised in Ashland, Oregon, she attended Waldorf school from the age of 4 where she was first introduced to watercolor painting. Since then, her love of painting and desire to explore other mediums have carried her through 12 years of Waldorf education, an art-filled and focused high school experience, and out into this wild world. With almost no professional training, Amelia’s journey has been filled with exploration, pretending she knows what she’s doing, and many failed attempts. Watercolor painting has remained her chosen favorite and consistent companion throughout. Her paintings are free of meaning beyond the desire to capture a moment in time and color. Each one is personal and deeply cherished.
In 2012, Amelia spent two years living in Prescott, Arizona, where her love of the high desert woke up. Since then, desert landscapes have been the main focus of her work and the safe space she returns to when life gets too loud. Following this desert desire, she moved to Sisters, Oregon in 2017 and frequently travels east to fill her need for heavy skies, deep canyons, and prairies that stretch beyond. She dreams of one day having a studio somewhere in the expanses of Lake County Oregon. For now she is happily creating art for fun, for personal shows, and in collaboration with local businesses.”
